Mansfield boasts a significant historical memorial in honor of the three Victoria Police members Sergeant Kennedy and Constables Scanlon and Lonigan murdered by the Kelly Gang at Stringybark Creek in 1878.
The impressive marble Troopers' monument was funded by public subscription from NSW residents. It is the feature of the roundabout in the centre of the Mansfield Township and listed as a Vitoria Police significant site.
Also of significance are the graves of the three police members.
